Allyson’s TwinHead Laptop P14S
From Allyson:
I bought a TwinHead Laptop P14S model wayyy back in 2001. At first the specs, we decent enough for the processor P4 Intel Mobile 2.2. However, I found out later on that the on board memory of 128MB and the shared video memory were insufficient for more complex functions. I added a 256MB RAM to improve performance, but when I installed the Trend Micro Pc-Cillin Ver 2007 my laptop went from slow to taking about 5-10 Minutes just to boot up.
Anyway, I wrote this thread mainly to dissaude everybody from ever buying a Twinhead Laptop. I’ve read some threads here regarding what Laptop to buy and I agree with most people here that After sales customer care should ALWAYS be a consideration. A couple of years ago my Twinhead Laptop had some problems with the casing. The brackets got smashed up coz of mishandling. Anyway, I took it to the licensed technical support in the Philippines, Standard Marketing Systems in Del Monte, Q.C. The entire amount for parts and labor was 9K (to fix the casing); so I was expecting good service since to replace some steel brackets I was expecting to pay around 5k MAX. Anyway, it took them a better part of the year to order the parts and install em. Once I got the laptop (finally) the keyboard was malfunctioning, and the people there had the nerve to tell me that the keyboard was malfunctioning before and all they did was to fix the brackets near the LCD. It was very very lousy customer service I believe since they should have been more apologetic coz they prevented me from using my laptop for a long long time and they tell when I finally get the computer that besides the casing my keyboard was malfunctioning too? The nerve of some people, but I couldn’t blame the person entirely since Twinhead itself does not reply to any emails I sent to their customer support.
Recommendation: Don’t buy a Twinhead Laptop unless you’re willing to throw it away if something gets broken. Actually, don’t buy it at all, it has lousy specs and an even lousier design.
