I haven't tried using 3rd party software. 2nd problem is the battery which is internal, so in case you need to replace your defective battery, you need to unscrew the bottom panel (hassel!). 3rd problem is you need to have external optical drive (CD/DVD/Bluray) to install SW from your optical disks. So far the only concern is that the unit has 2 USB ports - one for an extended SATA and the other for a regular USB/connection. Though it can be solved by buying a USB hub naman.
