The Japanese electronic manufacturer NEC has announced a new notebook that is suppose to become available in 2009, it is named VersaPro UltraLight type VC, and will cost close to $2,000 or about Php 90,000.

The latest NEC notebook has a 12.1-inch LCD screen with a WXGA resolution of 1,280×800 pixels, and in the inside you can find 1GB of memory RAM, a hard-drive of 80GB, and an Intel GS45 Express chipset. As for the processor, you can either pick a Celeron 723 at 1.2GHz, or an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9300 at 1.2GHz. Obviously, the latter processor is better.

* 12.1″ LCD display at WXGA resolution
* Intel Celeron 723/Core 2 Duo SU9300 processor options
* 1GB RAM
* 80GB hard drive
* Intel GS45 Express chipset
* Optional SSD
* Wi-Fi connectivity
* Fingerprint sensor
* Felica port
* SD memory card slot

I really hope it comes out here in the philippines sooner, so we can get more reviews and get to see the unit up close and see its performance.  And we all know more laptops like this on the market, more laptops to choose from that would suit our laptop needs and liking.
