Neo Laptops — Elias on February 19, 2009 at 10:31 pm

From sirrey;

I am a NEO owner,mine is the basic m540sr with celeron 1.86ghz 512gig linux. bought it last may 2007 for 19,999.00 upgraded my RAM 2gig transcend memory and upgraded my os to vista ultimate.The Battery life last only 1.5 hrs. LCD screen flickers when i push the screen back and forth.Fan is always working and due to extreme hotness coming from the vent area.Anyway all of this is satisfactory since the price is low compared to others, since its cheap i dissassembled my unit to clean the dustinside and work on its flickering screen. I forgot to tell you that i also upgrade the RAM myself I just put 1gig + 1gig ddr2 667 transcend.Regarding the flickering of the screen the only problem is,the wires connecting to the LCD screen were not properly placed so when you move the screen the wires connecting to the lcd was being pushed downward making the connection unstable.So i put an adhesive tape to correct the problem well as of know im still enjoying my neo,without the flickering of screen.But for this OS vista ultimate for a celeron its quite ok for emailing purposes but I suggest to stick first to windows xp sp3 for the time being that windows 7 is still on beta stage. For those who are commenting on its battery life Maybe you will have a 2nd laptop a netbook so you can enjoy surfing mobile make ur neo ur replacement desktop less the electricity bill.For people who are thrifty and wise, why buy expensive computer a month or two there will be another newer and your old one depreciates in price.NEO uses Clevo a brand in taiwan with cheap but quality computers. Thanks and God Bless

This is to point out not all Neo laptops are not good in quality for many users have shared that their Neo laptops run fine and well. We all know its because of the way we handle the unit or its just some of us are not that lucky upon getting their Neo laptop. By sharing experiences like these help us both, Neo manufacturers and the consumers. This is to voice out the problems in “other” Neo units and “some” service centers. Thanks for sharing ang please do share more not just with Neo laptops but the experience of using other laptops.

Neo Laptop: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

Neo Laptops — Ely on February 2, 2009 at 10:53 pm

The discussions on Neo Laptops are getting heated lately. NEO’s are getting both good and bad reviews. It’s also starting an ugly flame war.

The Good:

Got TV and radio commercials running on nationwide media all produced entirely on my NEO laptops. Plus, I hooked up my electric guitar to my neo so i can use it when i perform live with my band. Neo gave me access to much needed gear at a time when i couldnt afford the high prices of branded laptops. So me and my family are enjoying the earnings, not to mention the savings, generated from these neo’s while you go on your crusade. Best of luck to you. Cheers.

The Bad:

I will admit that I am anti-neo and in my previous posts I said that I have made it my mission in life to discourage people from buying neo products. Why? My sentiment is based on my horrific experience with the company and their product. It is an experience I don’t want anybody to go through.

The Ugly:
